PM Unistrut Review

PM Unistrut Review

Below are some basic instructions for the Unistrut Review documents that will be discussed in the PM meeting today. They are not final, and I would expect some improvements to be made as we dial in the process. The calculator to determine the the specific math is under construction and will be added to the process at a later date. The goal here is to get a visual depiction of the imaging rails & fixing blocks in the drawings to be able to dimension to our unistrut layout.

  1. Create SLDXXXXXX _ PM Unistrut Review  folder in project folder. Notice the dashes before & after the underscore to have the folder pop just above the PM Release folder (Image 1)
  2. Copy most current vendor drawings for imaging equipment to the SLDXXXXXX _ PM Unistrut Review folder. (Image 2)
  3. Save pdf of the filled out PM Unistrut Review Cover Form (attached) as "SLDXXXXXX _ PM Unistrut Review" to this folder. (Image 2)
  4. Open the most current submittal layout dwg, copy the Unistrut sheet to the end of the package, and name the sheet "PM Unistrut Review".
  5. Still in the CAD drawings, create the layer “SLD_Imaging Rails”, and set it to current. The color doesn’t matter, as you will manually change it later. (Image 3)
    1. Trace the imaging rails with a simple rectangle over the background/vendor geometry, and a center line down the length of each (for Siemens. For Philips it will be the clip rail edge, which is slightly offset from center), and change the color to 140 SLD Blue. (Image 4)
    2. Draw two rectangles depicting the plan view of the fixing blocks using the dimensions given in the vendor package. Orient these on the rails according to the same details (fixing blocks are typically offset from center of the rail). Change the color to 240 Red. (Image 4)
    3. Move the rails & fixing blocks to the plan view geometry. Hide the “SLD_Imaging Rails” layer in all viewports except for the Unistrut & PM Unistrut Review pages.
    4. On the Unistrut page, add dimensions from the end of the imaging rails to the nearest unistrut length. (Image 5)
  6. On the Unistrut Review page in the SLD Submittal Layout, add the following dimensions found in the imaging equipment vendors submittal. Add viewports for close-up views as needed, and add the following dimensions: (Image 6)
    • Center rail to center rail - Color: 140 SLD Blue
    • Fixing block inside to fixing block inside - Color: 240 Red
    • Fixing block outside to fixing block outside - Color: 240 Red
    • Inside of fixing block to rail centerline - Color: 84 Green
    • Outside of fixing block to rail centerline - Color: 84 Green
    • Inside SLD unistrut to inside SLD unistrut - Color: Black
    • Outside SLD unistrut to Outside SLD unistrut - Color: Black
  7. Repeat steps 5 & 6 for any additional equipment that SLD is picking up for the imaging equipment vendor.
  8. Plot the Unistrut Review & Unistrut sheets from the layout drawings and add to the SLDXXXXXX _ PM Unistrut Review document.
  9. Paste screen shots of the critical details and/or sheets from the imaging vendor submittal on or after the cover page of the Unistrut Review document.  (Image 7)
  10. Create an email with **Unistrut Review** added to the subject line, addressed to JordanH@sldus.com, the supervising/assisting PM, and pm@sldus.com. Link the SLDXXXXXX _ PM Unistrut Review  folder in the body of the email. This review email should be sent before the first Submittal for Approval revision is distributed, as well as any additional internal reviews with the appropriate parties copied.
